AGM Announcement: The AGM will be held on Thursday, 11th February, 2010 in the Old Schoolroom, Stone Allerton at 8pm

This event is held annually on the second Saturday in September and is a reminder of the close links between farming, food and life in the country.

This is very much a ‘local’ day with villagers, their families and friends and many visitors who have previously lived in the Allertons joining together to enjoy a traditional lunch after church.  It is also a tradition for the youngsters in the area to serve the food and drink to about 450 people before their own celebrations including Sports, Tea, Fancy Dress and an entertainer who is followed by a live Band.

Saturday 11th September 2010

Tickets for the Lunch will be on sale in the villages in July

£15 for adults - allocated seating

Please buy your tickets early as they usually sell out

Images of the hard working dedicated team who put so much effort into making this a day to remember! Also thanks to Dave Dixon for the first set of photos and to Chris Mulliss for the others.

These beautiful decorations are traditionally created by local people and families to decorate the marquee in keeping with the harvest theme.

Families on the cricket field. Thanks to Chris Mulliss for the first one, and Isobel Binks for all the others! Captions wanted for these photos, if you have any ideas please do email them in.

Decorated PoleLast year & Looking Forward

We are looking forward to this day which involves many, many people putting in a lot of work and enthusiasm but meanwhile we can look back at last year’s event with two photographs taken by David Dixon.

The Harvest Home is held in a large marquee. Traditionally these are beautifully decorated by individuals and families.

Opposite is a winning decorated Pole, they were all absolutely stunning but this showed particularly clever use of materials.

Chair and SpeakersNext we have the Chairman, Richard Cook, flanked by last year's speakers – Mrs Louise Seymour and Dr Matthew Paul.

Both speakers were witty and entertaining!
